Calender of Events

The following list is clearly not inclusive but includes events large and small and hopefully has a reasonable geographic distribution. Any bias towards the south is purely accidental. I am indebted to several souces for some of the information. These include Homer Sykes' "Once a Year - traditional British customs" which inspired me to look for these events and the work of Karen and Colin Cater at Hedingham Fair whose drawings have done much to bring these traditions to the public's attention.
